Minneapolis,
Minnesota: Northwest Swiss-Matic is a manufacturer
of custom precision shafts, spools, valves, sleeves, connectors,
pins and other cylindrical metal parts required in medical
devices and other non-invasive medical equipment.
Providing
full service screw-machining capabilities, Northwest Swiss-Matic
has over 124 machining systems including CNC Swiss, Acme multiple
spindle, 7 axis CNC chuckers, Escomatic wire systems and custom
designed cells. These systems produce very small turned parts
in micro finishes and to very tight tolerances. Part diameters
range from .010 inch to 2-3/4 inch with lengths under 1/8
inch to 3 feet with accuracy capabilities to .00020 inch for
circularity, cylindricality, concentricity, runout accuracy
and repeatability. Complete families of parts are available
in these size ranges.
Machining
operations include turning, thread rolling, slotting, milling,
grinding and plating. More complex operations from Escomatic
and CNC Swiss turning machines, well-known for ultra precision
burr-free finishes, result in parts in one chucking and with
high speed operations such as broaching, crimping, cross-hole
drilling, and back and front milling.
Dedicated
and semi-dedicated cells are available for small to large
part runs (up to 100,000 per day). Cells have been designed
to produce up to 60 variations of a single part type, or complete
groups of assemblies and part families.
Materials
machined include high strength alloys, titanium, steel, stainless
steel, aluminum, brass, copper and special metals required
in medical devices. A full range of value-added, secondary
services are offered such as contouring, thermo-deburring,
plating, painting and part assembly.
