CNC Lathe / Chucker Setup / Operator (2 & 3 Axis Machinist)

Summary / General Description:

CNC Lathe / Chucker Setup Operator is responsible for operating and working on technical set ups/aiding in proving processes on CNC Lathes and Chucker machines while maintaining customer, and company standards.

 

Reports to: Operations Manager

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

·         Operates and maintains CNC turning centers.
·         Reviews drawings, layouts, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate production.
·         Takes precise measurements, and ensures product is conforming to customer requirements.
·         Read and edit G&M code for CNC turning programs.
·         Maintains accurate document practices throughout the day.
·         Demonstrates the ability to read a blueprint.
·         Monitors production rate and notifies correct personnel to help make adjustments.
·         Maintains good line clearance throughout the day.
·         Displays attention to detail.
·         Performs tool alignments.
·         The ability to set up an unproven process and more technical set ups.
·         Maintains a safe and clean workstation.
·         Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Educational Level:

·         High School Diploma / or Equivalent

·         Any college experience a plus.

Previous Experience:

Excellent coordination and mechanical skills
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in math
·         Basic computer skills

·         Experience with CNC turning centers

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

·         Must be able to be able to be on feet for entire shift.

·         Must be able to lift 40 lbs. and perform repetitive tasks.
